PowerSchool Upgrade for SMCSD
Please be advised that tomorrow, Wednesday, March 12, school will dismiss at 2:45 PM, 15 minutes earlier than usual. This early dismissal will allow staff adequate time to participate in AK STAR state testing training.
As we “spring forward” this weekend with daylight saving time, we encourage everyone to adjust schedules accordingly to ensure students are well-rested and ready for learning. The time change can take some getting used to, so maintaining a consistent bedtime and morning routine will help with the transition.
With just a few months left in the school year, we want to remind our students to stay focused, stay engaged, and finish strong! Your support at home—encouraging good study habits, regular attendance, and a positive attitude—makes a big difference in their success.

We have been having issues with our landline phones as they have not been working for a week or more now. This seems to be an ongoing issue with the service provider throughout the year.
We have created an email address so you can email us if your student is going to be absent.
There is a link on our website for this email address as well called "New absentee contact!" right above the LIVE FEED.

Starting this week, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 pm the weight room will be available to all members of the community and high schoolers. Everyone must complete a waiver to be kept on file that will be available at the weight room.
The rules are as follows:
Wear athletic clothing and shoes
Be safe with all activities
Return all weights to the rack after use
Wipe down all equipment when finished
Don’t drop weights
Use safety bars or a spotter for squats or bench press
Treat all equipment with respect
Limit the amount of time using equipment if others are waiting
We were able to get the bus unstuck. It is now sitting at Pitkas store. Bus driver will wait for 30 minutes to pick kids up. He will depart at 8:15am.
Due to the snow pile up, the bus will not be able to make the Pitkas run yet. Update after 10am
Good afternoon.
Due to the severe road conditions the scheduled junior high games against Mountain Village Saturday at 1pm have been canceled.
We just tried to drive the road. The roads to Pitkas are still very slippery and we only made it to the bottom of the hill outside of Saint Marys. We will not be able to make any Pitkas bus runs today. Stay safe out there.
Due to icy road conditions, the Pitkas bus run will be delayed. Update at 10am. Parents/guardians, if you feel it is unsafe for your kids to go to school today please keep them home. Safety first. Let the office know and your kids will be excused. Be safe out there.

After today's trip to Mountain Village the road is way too slippery for the trip tomorrow. So the Junior High trip on Saturday has been canceled. Please contact coach for any questions.
